Win Your Wedding competition winners tie knot

THERE was barely a dry eye in the house on Saturday as two long-time sweethearts tied the knot in South Marston.

Win Your Wedding competition winners Steven Titcombe and Angie Mifsud were married in front of their friends and family at the Mercure Hotel and Spa before partying the night away.

Although everything went to plan, the couple, who live in Freshbrook, both said they were a little shaky before the wedding but were pleased with how everything went.

Steven, 33, said: “I was so nervous beforehand.

Everything went fine but I wish we could have had a practice.

“It was really nice to celebrate the day with everyone.

The day was brilliant.

“I have never felt about anybody the way I feel about Angie.

“I just knew that I wanted her to marry me and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.”

The couple will have been together for exactly six years on Monday and have five children between them, some of whom were bridesmaids and page boys for the special occasion.

Despite some unpredictable weather over the last few weeks, the day remained sunny and bright.

Guests gathered in the afternoon for the ceremony at the hotel and waited expectantly before Angie, 30, was escorted down the aisle by her father David.

The bridesmaids were dressed in blue, a colour chosen by the bride, and many were crying with happiness as she walked down the aisle.

The ceremony went off without a hitch before everyone enjoyed a meal and a party at the hotel.

Angie, who was dressed in white, said: “It’s been a great day. There were a lot of nerves beforehand but we both really enjoyed the day.

“It was so nice to have our friends and family here. The day has gone really quickly.”

Angie and Steven first met each other when they were in school, but they only became an item after reconnecting over Facebook.

They decided to try their luck and enter the competition after Steven proposed several years ago on Angie’s birthday.

Speaking when they heard they had won the competition, she said: “He went out shopping with my sister and they got the ring and a bag and they filled it with heart-shaped chocolates and there was a rose too.

“I was so happy. I said yes of course because I love him and I want to spend the rest of my life with him.”
