来美国快30年了，第一次看病

我刚来美国，保险从$30/月到$350/月，我只交钱买保险，从来没看过病。

 

儿子曾经几天高烧不退（因为我以为他还是孩子，给的药量不够），去医院急诊，喝了一杯药，10分钟就回家了。陆续4次收到$1000账单。因为deduction高，自付。

 

丈夫工作中搬家伤腰，去urgent care，照X光（后来看账单$700），打了一针不止痛的止痛针，陆续寄来了$7000账单，太高了，最后工伤付费。

 

我对美国的医院怕了，基本除了2-3年体检一次，就没有去过医院看病。 腰椎间盘突出，我网上找医生$75，开MRI$400。全部自费，自己治疗。

 

这次因为吃了Costco 买的海带丝，诱发甲亢，开始以为是碘甲亢，可是4-6周仍然没有恢复。自费去Lab 查CBC+CMP+甲功+抗体， 发现是原发性甲亢。预约内分泌医生很难，到明年一月份。

 

我不得不看一个可以开处方的护士，让她开抗甲状腺药物。护士让我吃10mg/天，我马上吃20mg/天。她紧急推荐内分泌医生，4天后看了内分泌医生。他是一个快70岁的老头，开倍他洛克和抗甲状腺药物，60mg/天。 也不开化验单。我本身就是内分泌医生，我从来没有开过这么大的量给病人。我坚持服30mg/天，两周后出现皮疹，我自费去查了CBC+CMP+甲功，发现转氨酶升高，我减量20mg/天。

 

我心动过速，倍他洛克控制不好，恰好儿子从国内回来，我让他带心得安和安眠药，自己换成心得安，很快控制了心率。内分泌医生不开安眠药，他居然说甲亢不会失眠。

 

没想到我的保险不错，所有化验检查病人全免费。账单来了，看护士co-pay $39，收费$1000。 我付$100。 看医生co-pay $39，收费$500。 我付$50。 

 

我自费查CBC+CMP+甲功，$100， 医生order Lab, $1000。 我保险lab 全免费，但是医生copay39+额外50， 差不多自费查lab 的费用，所以我经常自费查，调节药物用量。

 

这里不同于国内，国内你挂号，没有其他费用，这里除了co-pay, 随后会产生额外的费用。

 

我做药物的临床试验，阅上千的病历，发现医生造成的死亡不少见，所以非常小心。这也是我不去医院的原因，如果美国能像中国一样随便买到药，我就不会去看医生！

 

很少来文学城，广告太多，造成手机病毒，只有来文学城，经常跳出来手机发现病毒，很难清除，所以很少来。

I've never been big and needed to lose weight. My diabetes was diagnosed last year, seven years after the child birth. I think diabetes is genetic and not avoidable for people like me. If I didn't have the third child it would probably still catch up with me.

我也是怕去看医生。退休前医保也不错。只是本能觉得如车辆房子保险-样，能不用就不用。

自己是医生真的好。 美国的医疗系统真的很烂。我也是除了体检，没有看过医生。自己的身体健康状况只有自己清楚。

哇，我是真真佩服你，三十年很少看病。最主要你自己就是内科医生。
美国的医药费太昂贵了。没有好的保险，生了病就要倾家荡产。呜呼

回复 'elfie' 的评论 : 实际上怀孕后减肥注意饮食，根本就不需要诊断为DM II， 医生喜欢用药，医源性疾病！喜欢医院就会依赖上，容易引起医源性疾病！

I started seeing doctors after getting pregnant and having children. Before that I've never seen a doctor except for emergency care. I had kidney stones onset twice. A woman must see an ob/gym for perinatal care and childbirth. I had three child births. I guess your kid wasn't born here. After the three pregnancies I started getting sick with diabetes and hypothyroidism. Gestational diabetes turned into type II diabetes after a few years. And of course my children need to see doctors regularly starting from birth. They got sick with seasonal flu, strep throat, common cold, ear infections, stomach flu, Covid, whooping cough, croop, you name it. We see doctors, dentists, orthodontists, all kinds of medical providers year around. Insurance on high options is worth it if you have a big family. I have been taken into the ER on an ambulance at least three times, my husband had it once. I had a car accident, blackout from low blood pressure once, he had pneumonia and high blood pressure. We are in our late 40s now, not seeing any doctor is getting more and more impossible. I think most women's health conditions are being changed by multiple pregnancies. Breast cancer, diabetes, heart disease are all related to the changing levels of growth hormones from early pregnancy, and the placenta is like a giant parasite sucking off blood from the mother's body. No wonder I got diabetes. The whole metabolism system is messed up.
