普城放羊记 （吃货版）

暑假结束前的一个星期，将俩小孩放到了上班路上的普城图书馆，一星期朝九晚五，某天甚至是晚七。虽省去夏令营银两若干，但混掉的日子呢，却无价可沽。我爱普城，也想借小孩的经历享受一下自己的人生。所以有了这篇小记。

小孩的日程是上午在图书馆，看书玩游戏随便，中午给了二十元饭钱，自己到街上找饭吃，下午回到图书馆重复上午的活动。

那天我对老二吩咐道，希望你能写一篇周记，记录一下一周的经历。到了星期五，几经催促下，流水账的记录来了。 我一看，记得全是吃的，周一至周五午餐在哪里吃了什么。 唉，三岁看到老。这孩子将来会如何，大概也七八分明了。

话说普城这个小镇，可算是我走遍大江南北最喜欢的地方之一。麻雀虽小，五脏俱全，还不用说有那个世界瞩目的大藤。 但我最喜欢的是她的宁静安全，所以才把小孩丢在那里放羊。既然我得到的回馈是一篇午饭流水账，这篇小记自然就成了“吃货篇”。

从图书馆出来左拐一百多步即是小城缅街（main street）。街的两边，一边是大学，一边是一家家比肩而立的店铺。 银行，百货，服装，书店，咖啡零食大餐，应有尽有。街上的饭馆一周吃一家，可能也得吃上一阵子呢。两个羊孩儿吃了什么呢？(详见附录吃货日记）

赶上这一周我忙得厉害，白天都顾不上打电话给他们，有时打个电话人家也不接。晚上则会来电话问什么时候会去接他们。当我终于可以下班，远远看见站在图书馆门口望眼欲穿的孩子，心里有些高兴，有些伤感，是一种混合的滋味。

常常自责自己是一个百分百的失职家长。 非但自己不努力，更不知如何培养小孩。因为自己如此庸碌，也不能指望孩子怎样。所以就暗自鼓励自己，听天由命吧。

附录：吃货日记
On Monday, we went to a recently opened restaurant by the name of “30 Burgers.” This restaurant was extremely small and we had to squeeze through a few tables outside to get in. The inside was approximately twenty square feet. Also when you go to the cashier to order, you can see burger buns and plates everywhere. This restaurant is definitely low-budget. However, the food was made as quick as a cheetah, which was extremely pleasing. After we got our food, I went to the restroom but someone was already in there and they were still in there even after ten minutes, so I decided to return to my seat and eat my burger. We only ordered a burger for each of us. I ordered a “classic” burger with the usual: Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and cheese. This burger had mayonnaise which I usually didn’t put on my burger, but after trying it, it was delicious. My sister had gotten a Barbecue burger that tasted a lot like barbecued ribs but in burger-form. We didn’t order any drinks or French fries because we wanted to save money. The burger I had here was definitely one of the best ones I’d ever tasted, and I certainly want to come back to this restaurant again.

On Tuesday, my sister and I came across the restaurant “Cheeburger Cheeburger,” and we were not new to this place. We had been to this place many times. The reason why we decided to have burgers again was because it was relatively close to 30 Burgers, and we knew it wasn’t so pricey. When our server sat us at a table by a window with a reflecting sun, he handed us menus and we chose drinks. I chose a watermelon iced tea while my sister chose a mango iced tea. Afterwards, we ordered our foods. I got a “Semi-Serious Burger” with basically the same “toppings” I got on my burger at 30 Burgers. My sister ordered a simple “classic” burger. Before our server came to take our order, my sister had already tallied up and calculated the price for our thought-out order, so we knew that we could afford fries today. The wait was a little longer than the restaurant that we went to yesterday, but it was really worth the wait. The food wasn’t the greatest, but it was pretty good. At the end of our meal, we gave a five dollar tip, which probably wasn’t the greatest decision because the food took so long to get to us.

On Wednesday, we decided to go to Tiger Noodles, except when we walked all the way there, my sister decided she wasn’t in the mood for Chinese food, plus the dishes were sort of expensive. Fortunately, a Subway nearby caught my eye and we were already too tired from walking three blocks that we just settled on it. The Subway line was pretty long, but it wasn’t the worst. When we got there, there were only two ladies working. One was getting the bread and the meat, as well as toasting the sandwich. The other one was working the toppings of the sandwich and working the cash register. My sister and I both got foot-long sandwiches. We ate half for lunch and saved the other half for dinner.

On Thursday, we chose to visit Qdoba, a Mexican themed restaurant with quesadillas, burritos, nachos, tacos, etc. The line was decent, and we got to order right away. I chose a Grilled Chicken Quesadilla with guacamole and sour cream on the side. My sister ordered a Bean Burrito with meat. The food was unbelievably fast and pretty cheap. What was cool about the restaurant was that they had a cool electronic soda machine that was touch screen and had many different, breathtaking flavors to choose from. This was definitely one of my favorite restaurants.
We went back to Qdoba on Friday because we liked it so much.
