Road House (1989)
Dalton (Patrick Swayze) drives a Mercedes Benz, holds a degree in philosophy from NYU and makes lots of money. He's been shot at, stabbed and has broken most of the bones in his body. And...he is a bouncer who has been hired to "clean house" at the Double Deuce, a seedy saloon in Jasper, Missouri, "where they sweep up the eyeballs after closing." The current clientele primarily consist of lowlifes and bikers. Dalton must also tangle with the very nasty local kingpin (Ben Gazzara) who regards the burg as his own, squeezes the locals and likes the bar just the way it is. Dalton responds with his own humanistic rules: (1) Never underestimate your opponent; (2) Take it outside; and (3) Be nice. He also has an additional (unspoken) rule: (4) Never rip out an opponent's throat unless you're really mad.
