Can you imagine being a Christian Roman citizen seeing a massive army marching on your city with Christ’s standard upon their shields? Must of been a combination of total panic and joy knowing that the lord was moving in action.

People are debating about what Constantine saw or didn’t see, but my favorite quote goes “A good historian doesn’t remember names or dates”. The point is Constantine has a spiritual dream upon which he legalizes Christianity for the first time ever in the world. The true significance is that it’s a big bang moment after which universe keeps expanding…

I agree 100%. The significance and outcomes are clear to see. I mean billions of people are Christian as we speak, we’re still seeing it to this day.

It wasn’t Rome that condemned Jesus, but the greed and avarice of the Pharisees. As today the same is happening now under the guise of the Law!!!

Cool but a legend. Nobody knows which "signo" Constantine saw, since at the time, the cross wasn't used by the christians, they actually despised it, because in the roman society (which christians as well belong to) cross was considered a humiliating death, and the christians didn't want to remember Jesus like that. In that specific time the Cross was just starting to acquire a new meaning (sacrifice and martyrdom) but it would have taken more time still, to become the main christian symbol, much later Constantine. It is more verosimilar he "saw" the "christogram" but in any case it's quite uncertain, since Constantine never specified personally what did he see in his dream. The only source we have about it is from the bishop Eusebios of Caesarea, Constantine chronicler, who obv. had all the reason to legitimate the character of Constantine that way. Also the story about the crosses painted on the soldiers shields, we have even the proof it is false. After gaining the whole empire, back together in one, Constantine wanted to celebrate his success, as a normal emperor of the time, by building a memorial monument, the Column of Constantine, covered in sculptures celebrating his most important victories, including the Milvius Bridge defeat of his rival Massentius. If you look at the column, not only you won't find even a single cross or a christogram on the shields, instead, you'll se only the traditional "Insigna" of the legions and/or pagan symbols

i doubt Christians would feel humiliated by the cross even at that time. Jesus' crucifixion was prophesied in the bible and they believed it including what Jesus said abt himself dying for the sins of the world. so the cross benefitted Christians. it did not humiliate them. certainly not for the majority of apostles who died a brutal death bcoz they chose to follow Jesus.

Yours is a partial narration. You can't omitt that christians were roman citizens, wether the romans liked christians or not. They were part of the roman culture and, as romans, they looked at the cross as a humiliation symbol "our messiah crucified as those two common stealers along side with him" even Jesus himself, in pain on the cross, felt humiliated and doubted (Father, why did you abandon me?)

Firstly, why would Constantine fabricate a story after he’s already won? People in antiquity did interpret dreams as messages from gods. Either way, Constantine convening the Council of Nicaea shows some genuine regard for the religion. From historic sources and this video, the bottom line message is that he believed there was gods hand in victory

Still all Italian. You want to see heaven you want to say God. You want to see Jesus, what you've done, what you did and what you are running right now. You know what I'm talking about

Actually the thing is that the Romans can't seem to accept Christianity at that time because they have their own deities. So inorder to make them easily accepted Christianity they transformed their deities into Biblical figures. For example how come we Christians celebrated 25th December as Jesus' birthday? 25th December actually the day the Romans celebrated for Sol Invictus the Sun God.

Constatin was Albanian from a place called Nish couple hours away from Prishtina. Albanians are a creater of christianity, vatican, paris and london.

I think that cross " sign meant to conquer through love, ( love conquers all )and not wars but was unfortunately mistaken ...( When Jesus was arrested ....one of the apostles, named Peter, took out his sword and cut off the ear of ones of the soldiers, but Jesus told him to put it back...in other words Jesus didn't want them to act through that way...)
I think this account is definitely later account in reality Constantine accepted Christianity because of several reasons related to economy and politics it was a gradual process. It wasn't some vision and then all gods were aside that is mythical folklore in reality the pagan gods gradually merged with Christianity and European folklore traditions merged with Christianity. Im not saying Christian doctrines are pagan ideas it just that pagan customes based on pagan gods did gradually got into Christianity in the Roman empire and it was lengthy process as people still strongly opposed Christianity.

This is one of the most disturbing facts in church history… Baptism has been practiced for the remission of sins by immersion, but these generations had led the major Christianity into easy method - baptism as sprinkle or droppin
