【Central American Adventure】Day 14 on the way from Rio Dulce to Antigua, Guatemala
By 8:30am, we have been traveling for 3 hours and stopped for a breakfast.
Leaving the “Sweet River” at 5:30am in the overnight pouring rain, today we are travelling to the city of Antigua. The road between Rio Dulce and Antigua is one of the busiest in the country. Traffic is slow, there are frequent road works and many many many (seriously) slow trucks. Be armed with patience, musics and good books (and WeChat for me), we will have a good and fun journey.

Arrived in the afternoon around 1pm,Antigua is “love at first sight” to me. Before revealing its beauty in the next few days, let's reward ourselves after 8 hour journey with all kinds of delicious local foods.
【Central American Adventure 】Day 15 at Antigua,Guatemala
Say bye to beautiful Antigua, see you in two days.
Today we will visit Mayan village and sleep over in Mayan families.
Besides happy eating and drinking yesterday and this mornig, the hotel we stayed is also charming with full characters. I have three beds in my room, but the one I want most is outside and occupied. Should I say to the young man: get out here, you can sleep when you're dead
【Central American Adventure 】Day 15 at Antigua,Guatemala
Just like skiing and mountaineering are a part of the culture of the Swiss Alps, volcano hiking is a huge part of the culture in Guatemala. The country has 37 officially named volcanoes—three of which that are still active.
The following video is what I just taped:Volcano Fuego, one of three active volcanos surrounding Antigua.
