今日空气质量：GOOD

       这几日美国西部几个州的山火连续出现在新闻报道中，给本来心情就压抑无比的人们又多填了不少焦躁烦恼。在加州北部我们所在的小城，天气预报显示的空气质量信息也是以very unhealthy, unhealthy, unhealthy for sensitive groups 等交替出现，一直到今天我们终于看到了GOOD ！

      空气污染最严重的应该是9月9日。早上醒来，看到窗外混沌不清，查看手机，居然已接近每早例行骑车锻炼的时间，但知道今天是不行了。别说外出骑车，连窗户都不敢开了。悠哉缓慢地吃了个简单的早饭，看着窗外，没有丝毫改善的迹象。8点半开门出去，前后院各拍了一张照片。

       知道这烟雾一时半会儿不会散，咱最不怕的是宅家。继续追剧。接近9点了，无论如何每周三家附近的农贸市场不能误了。武装好后出门。往日还算热闹（按我们这里的标准哈）的小市场今天萧条了不少。

每次必买的甜玉米上落了不少烟灰。

离开市场时注意到车顶上的烟灰。（出门前是停在车库里的）

还是9月9日，6:28PM。傍晚情况略好一点。后院

      之后几天的空气质量都很差，本已冷清的街上，只会偶尔看到驶过的车辆和戴着口罩遛狗的人们。直到今天，9月18日。

      这里是火灾多发区。2005年我们搬来时只是听说，还没有见过大的火灾。当时单位的同事们聊天说起那两年多前的一次属于纵火性质的火灾，损失不是很大，但当时没有找到肇事者。在座一位同事说是他儿子跟其朋友干的。大家缄默不语。这位同事的儿子是个小混混。在加州北部犯了其他事逃跑到俄勒冈州躲起来，留在当地的女朋友临产生孩子时又悄悄地溜回来。在医院填写孩子生父信息时被当地警局发现，并实行了逮捕。

      这些年来周边地区火情不断，但大多数没有人员伤亡，大部分是山火，当地的林业部门林业公司损失较大。而让当地居民记忆犹新的应该是2018年的两场大火。一是 Carr Fire，发生在2018年8月。

      2018年11 月的另一场大火损失更为惨重，那就是 Camp Fire，或者Paradise Fire。
