“好。” 胡晓军答应完,翻开了他的《新概念英语》第二册 “实践与进步(Practice and Progress)”,小声地念了起来。

《灵格风》的标准牛津音已经过时了,《九百句》太过口语化,也没什么内容,而《新概念》却一枝独秀。它一套四册,从很简单的第一册《First Things First》,到相当高深的第四册《Fluency in English》,每个人都能找到适合自己程度的课文。内容也非常有趣,有很多幽默故事,大家都喜欢读。最重要的是,《新概念》教的是通俗的平民化的美国英语,符合当时的潮流。准备 “插洋队” 的学子们个个磨拳擦掌,蠢蠢欲动,自然而然地成了热门中的热门。
