The Dream

 By  Huilan

With leaves shivering in the deep winter night,
another side of earth is blooming.
I see you stand behind the flowers, saying nothing.
I see your smile beyond my dreams, saying a word.
Xxx, a man comes from the sea; a man I knew somewhere.
Yesterday, we said hello; today, we meet.

You bring me to you in a dream.
Where birds’re flying about over my head.
In the blue sky, there also contains a few eagles.
They fly as high as my soul, or my desire to reach heaven.
I can’t remember but I know I was there before:
A house at middle of the hill; a curved road to the sea;
and the foggy seashore in front of my feet…

Nobody’s there but I feel you.
You stand in the endless trees with your arms open.
I don’t know what to do but stare at you,
as a child getting lost in the dark night.
I fear the darkness but long for the sunshine,
I don’t know what to do, and then sing a song.

The breeze in my song comes to comb my hair gently,
It makes me lie down in flowers on ground to feel.
Somewhere, a fragment aroma of joy’s drifting.
I open my eyes and take fresh air in deeply:
“oh, the eagles! oh, the sea!”
