拿起这本书是因为作者Anthony Doerr ， 在读完他的All the light we cannot see以后，我就被他文风迷住了。

这是作者两口子带着两个刚出生的双胞胎娃，在罗马旅居一年的经历。 Doerr 一如既往的用散文一样的文字，诗意抒情又生动的描述他们旅居在厚重罗马文化里面满地鸡毛的日子. 小人物的struggle，在语言不通的外国生活的挑战和笑话。每天在街上遇到的人，教皇的葬礼，初为父母的挑战，都被Doerr生动又真实的在罗马的四季里面描述下来。

The sleeping Dictionary

The story sets in 1930's India, follows a Bengali girl from the age of 10 through 27.  From Pom to Kamala, she survived and evolved; from Kharagpur to Calcutta, she moved from different cities to different identity; witness her resilience, along with the resilient independent movement of India. 

A fascinating story to read. - Finished by 8/20/2019
