Musings on Sexuality and Marxism

Sexuality

“Sexuality is fluid.”

Said Shane, a cool character in the lesbian soap opera The L Word on Showtime.

She continued to say that a person would be straight until she becomes gay, and vice versa.

I quite like this perspective.

To add my own take, I think human sexuality is a spectrum.

One extreme is hetero, and the other extreme is homo. The midpoint is someone who’s equally attracted to either sex.

I think there are many people who fall somewhere between the two extremes. And whether they end up hetero or homo at any point in time all depends on which sex they happen to fall in love with at that moment.

As simple as that.

Marxism

I earn decent money though it’s no way proportional to the efforts I put in this shit called work.

So this leads me to the vice of capitalism. And the solution that proposed by Marxism: socialism.

Socialism does not work, among human species anyway. And here’s why.

The most crucial assumption underlies socialism is that the social elements (e.g. human beings) take what they need.

Real world: people take what they want.

Anne Frank said (quoted loosely): after everything I still believe there’s good in people.

Pity we can’t extrapolate to think that there’s only good in people.
