I have tried a couple of blogs, but didn’t keep writing on a regular base, though I always wanted to. I thought this site seems kind of cool, am trying it again. I hope you will remember mine, and I want to share my thoughts with you. Please welcome to comment and write back. In stead of reporting a daily routine which might bore you, I will try to focus on issues, and thoughts, to keep you fresh meanwhile get to know a little bit about our lives in US.  I will prefer to write in English, with no intention to show off, but because my typing of Chinese is rather slow. Thus if you see mistakes, please forgive me!

My interest writings would be, movies, reading, cooking, dating, suffering from the process of getting a green card, homesick, friends, travels, etc.. If you feel you might be interested, please make a note.

Here is a brief introduction about myself. I am a 41 year old female, original from Shanghai, lived in Tokoy for 4 years, then came here in July 1999. I gave up a good job in Tokyo as an engineer and a settled up life in terms of the life style, and language barriers. I thought US would have more opportunities for foreigners since it is an immigrant country. Plus I had a strong desire to learn to speak English after I learned Japanese in 3-4 years. So I moved here.

Like most Chinese students, I spent two years learning English at Hunter College, passed TOEFL exam, then enrolled at Brooklyn College’s graduate school in Computer Information System. Now I am working for a small import company which supports my green card.

I should say, living abroad has made my life interesting, in both good and bad ways. I will have a lot more to write comparing to the people who only lived in one place.

Additional note: Since Feb. 2008, I joined Marubeni ( 丸红)in New York, love the job with both cultures (Japanese and American). as a Chinese. Thanks for stopping by--Wendy (11/09/09)
