FALLING LEAVES IN MIDSUMMER - by Rose Lu
Today I drive my car Passing through a small street The fallen leaves floating and swaying Like rain flying down
I apprehend, and see They are all sorrowful Being used to the standing-high Greened, shaded lives Perhaps they really don’t wanna get down
Leaf by leaf sweeping outside the window glasses I don’t know why my tears run down like streams Suddenly the corners of my mouth have a taste of Dense salty and acerbity
The falling down that every leaf has to experience There is no exception that can one escape The today’s sadness is They didn’t fall in the autumn as they should But in the hotness of the summer
The pitiful leaves die untimely I send them a song But the recipient of the song Yet becomes myself
