Wherever you are --- are you knitting sunlight
into another sweater of love? --- I'm writing to you.
You, the knowing, devoted, loving,
and also for you, helpless and bewildered.
(I still don't know what saddened you,
or lifted you to the clouds!),
for you, determined and burdened,
I lay words upon words, gathering light at night.
I am thinking by dreaming,
remembering from forgetting,
that one day I'll reach you,
or my words will find you wherever you are,
for life is so short (that's what they say),
so I have decided to take is slow
and when I am writing to you (this lucid moment!),
I know I have never left you.
