In general, flow can be recorded in any view that allows visualization of the flow area. As we know, though, the highest velocity measurements and the strongest Doppler signals occur when flow, in the selected sampling area, is parallel to the ultrasound beam. Flow through various sampling locations is essentially parallel to the ultrasound beam in the following two-dimensional views:
