| Tonight, as usual, caltivating diligently at my blog “garden”, as usual, using Google's and others quasi-translator to deal with some difficult words. Yo Ho, “Seems a sudden spring night breezing, Hundreds of thousands of pear flowers blooming“ ( a popular poem sentence from a poet Mr. Sen Cen, in prosperous Tang Dynasty of China, see Reference [1]). Reading the page contents, suddenly my eyes feel slightly more comfortable; in computer professional's words, the Human-Computer Interface, ie. HCI, is slightly improved. Guess what ? Today, Google's quasi-translator's “face” is changed! Before, about one week ago, its framework was: To-be-translated-contents was put at the BELLOW position of the page, while the Translated-contents was put at the UP position of the page, that made readers' eyes very uncomfortable; today, its framework becomes: To-be-translated-contents is put at the LEFT position of the page, while the Translated-contents is at the RIGHT position of the page.

On August 23, I published 《 Self-challenge the Traditional Web Browsers 》at my blog ( See Reference [2] ) , pointed out that the framework design of ALL current browsers and quasi-translators has fatal drawbacks, one of these drawbacks is the tradition of “Design flaw in BELLOW-UP Layout vs. LEFT-RIGHT Layout”, because it is against human being's reading habit and thinking habit. At that time, there were some comments from “Literature City”, one of them said that my advocacy is “Kua's Dream of 'Chasing the Sun' ; Having courage, however having no foundation”...
It seems that Google is really a willing-listen “child”, and followed the remonstration as naturally as a river follows its course. Unfortunately, it's still “Curing the head when the head is ache; Curing the foot when the foot is ache”, there is no way for Google to solve this drawback fundamentally. Check out its “Whole-Web-Page-Quasi-Translation” feature, it's even worse, it can't keep the original to-be-translated page contents on the same window with the translated page contents. Charging forward, “Child” in Paris, SYSTRAN ( http://www.systran.fr ) , and other “children” in France, show the world your flaming enthusiasm, as brave as in French Revolution two hundred years ago; embrace the unorthodox ideas and thoughts arising in horizon, as brilliant as honorable unorthodox French scientist couple Ms. Marie Curie and Mr. Pierre Curie one hundred years ago! ( See Reference [3] ) Honorable knight-errants, ladies and gentlemen, this is only “The first step of 12,500 kilometers in Chinese Red Army Long March”. Sooner or later, the true “Universal Translator” composed in Open Source Code shall be arising in horizon. “Not to mention the heroism unless long march to Great Wall” ( See Reference [4] ) , show the world your great courage and unique astounding talents in this course of “Kua's Dream of 'Chasing the Sun' ” ! |
