 Hello, 2006

A freezing breeze, has just gone

with the starless night.

There the Square that’s still in Christmas decors,

rests under the twinkling lights.

Where’s the traffic all gone, I wonder

that often seen crossing Westminster   Bridge ?

Now there stands only the Big Ben

whose reflection, rippling

in the water that flows by.

Last night, seemed the longest ever

of all the nights that have gone by.

On New Year’s Eve, I

tossing about in bed, no dreams ever arrived.

Suddenly, there comes the stroke of

And a phoenix’s ascending, and outside

I hear waves of euphoric chanting

drowning this city, of ancient time.

Oh no. This is no dream

 Nor is it illusion.

And that isn’t a phoenix either. It’s rather

bunches of flowers, in colour of fire

blossoming in style, in this festive time

A wonderful night sky.

I say, Little sparrow there, come and sing

And you the graceful poplars, come and dance.

Forget the endless winter rains

Say hello to the new spring

with song notes of elegant rhythm.

Let’s go, darkness is fading

Through the mists, we sing

to welcome the arrival of 2006

A sunbathed first morning!
