What's his story : Binchois was one of the great melodists of the early Renaissance. He broke free of prevailing orthodoxy to create a new kind of spontaneous expression, often following his heart rather than stifling rules. In contrast to the increasing complexity of ‘Ars nova’(14^th-century polyphonic） writing, Binchis advocated a return to naturalness and simplicity.

吉尔·班舒瓦（ 法语 ： Gilles Binchois ，约 1400 年－ 1460 年 9 月 20 日 ），又称吉尔·德·班斯（ Gilles de Bins ）， 法国 - 弗莱芒 作曲家、 管风琴 家。与同时期的 纪尧姆·迪费 一样，他是 弗莱芒乐派 的第一代（ 勃艮第乐派 ）代表之一。他于 1419 年 至 1423 年 在 蒙斯 担任管风琴师，曾当过兵,后来成为一名 教士 。他的宗教和世俗音乐作品旋律优美，其歌颂 骑士精神 和 爱情 的世俗歌曲尤受当时的王公贵族喜爱。班舒瓦现在被认为在 音乐史 上占有重要的地位。
