This morning, after the three of us hit the road, I started to play the tape from Olivia’s Chinese class as it was part of her homework.

As usual, before my finger could reach the knob, Evan already protested “No more Chinese! You listen too much Chinese!” Then something like this slipped out of my mouth without me even realizing it.

“Olivia! Hold on a second! We have to listen to this, this is Evan’s homework.”

I heard Olivia's laughing at the backseat then realized that I mixed up with my kids’ names, again. How can you mix up a boy and a girl’s name which are not even remotely pronounced the same? Well, I do not know but I can and I do that all the time. Then Olivia said something that actually made me feel bad: “Mommy, I think I change my mind of having three kids. I only want one, only one now as I do not want to mess up their names.”

After I finally gave in to Evan and turned the music on, they started to play a game. Olivia would turn away from Evan and hide one of Evan’s small hot wheels in one of her black gloves. Then she wore both gloves and asked Evan to guess which glove has the car.  They were giggling and screaming, obviously really enjoyed the game.

Since the car was kind of bulky so it was easy for Evan to get it right every time. After a little while, Olivia made a comment “Man, Evan is so good, he can go to high school for this.” I just could not help but laughing out loud.
