这是我第一次挑战生牡蛎。当海鲜餐厅从下午4点到5点有“Buck a Shuck”特价时，我们点了一打生牡蛎（一打十二只）。一个四口之家只点了两只牡蛎进行尝试。有趣的事我以为他们点了两打。后来我的老公说你看这家人只点了两只牡蛎。那一刻，我意识到我可能点了太多的牡蛎。牡蛎味道非常新鲜。质地更像果冻 - 非常光滑，非常多汁，有点粘粘的，有点颤颤巍巍的。但总的来说，新鲜的牡蛎味道令人愉快。我不建议吃很多生牡蛎，但值得尝试。我的老公买了两种酱料 - 生姜和柠檬，这增强了牡蛎的味道。我们还点了牡蛎汤和蒸蛤蜊。
Just around the corner from Victoria's Inner Harbour, Fisherman's Wharf is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. This unique marine landmark offers seafood booths, unique artistic shops and adventure cruises in the heart of the working harbor. You can wander down the docks, buy seafood fresh off the boat, admire moored pleasure vessels and float homes, and watch as fishing vessels unload their wares.
We visited Fisherman’s Wharf of Victoria several times. Float homes are very unique for me. The tiny and dainty houses are built on concrete pads that are floating on the water and the concrete pads are fixed by big strong ropes on the docks. The float homes are all painted with bright colors and look very artistic.
It was the first time that I challenged raw oysters. We ordered a dozen of raw oysters (one dozen means 12) when a seafood restaurant had “Buck a Shuck” specials from 4 to 5 pm. A family of four ordered only two oysters for trying. The funny thing I thought they ordered two dozens. Later my hubby said you see this family only ordered two oysters. At that moment, I realized I might have ordered too much oysters. The oysters tasted very fresh for sure. The texture was more like jelly – very smooth, very juicy, a little bit gooey, and a little bit jiggly. But overall, fresh oysters tasted enjoyable. I would not recommend to eat a lot of raw oysters but it was worth trying some. My hubby ordered two types of sauces – ginger and lemon, which enhanced the taste of oysters. We also ordered oyster soup and steamed clams.
