Just at the moment of washing my hands, I was taken aback seeing my reflection in the mirror: the white shirt was not tucked inside the belt, but pulled out; the sleeves not cuffed, but rolled up; the tie not fastened, but half loosen and suspended on my chest; the shirt's collar button not done up, but undone though I didn't have any chest hair to peep out like sexy South European man. I had tried to leave Mama Vaughan a good impression, but ironically, I rendered her an appearance reminiscent of an dirty old teenager ready for school and street fights like Kenji Wu in his MTV "Write Poems just for You". I had particularly dressed up in order to pay respect to Mama Vaughan. Snowing had brought me an auspicious omen. So, superstitionally, everything should have been going right. But now, I got myself this.

I walked out of the gate and turned around to take another look at AGO.
A text message triggered the ring tone. I took out the cell phone.
"It's very nice that my farewell to you takes place on such a beautiful snowy day!"
I sighed and texted back. "The emancipated serf is cheering to sing song! Yeh! I'm free!"

Wrapping up my scarf and turning up the collar, I walked into whirling snow.

Notes:

02. Write Poems just for You - 《为你写诗》
03. The emancipated serf is cheering to sing song - 翻身农奴把歌唱(红色歌曲的歌词)
