如何将2017年生理学(生物钟)诺贝尔奖的灵感推动中医理论发展?

如何播种,将2017年诺贝尔生理学奖得主的灵感翻译成中医理论?

Some company (see Ref., below,  ScienCell Research Laboratories | 6076 Corte Del Cedro. Carlsbad, CA) reap the fruit of 2017 Nobel prize in Physiology/Medicine. Take a free ride - why not?

It's pure instinct for me to write this post (below), simply from my own experience. Any good TCM doctors provided me with their prescriptions granted me a sound sleep - I guess their TCM medicine improved my internal biological clock, for someone like me suffering from insomnia.

How can you sow the seed to translate the inspiration of 2017 Nobel prize in Physiology/Medicine to TCM (中医)?

Here are some thoughts:

1) basal levels of those biological clock before TCM - pathological readout (molecular assays, see Ref.)

2) molecular changes upon TCM treatment (time course study up to TCM efficacy time point - six months or longer)

3) It's cliche to mold molecular bio-clock theory to TCM mechanism; however, it's a way to compliment TCM holistic management with such theory. Nothing to hurt TCM, but doing nothing hurts much worse.

(Robotic translation - not proof-reading as I jot down/drop off my thoughts here, hoping I'll come back to visit this topic. Rushing through many ideas daily is a problem now as I got too much to do, with too little time)

Plants, animals, and humans adapt their biological rhythm with the Earth's revolutions, this way they can all stay synchronized.

Scientists knew these centuries before they understood what made

them tick. Three American scientists, Jeffrey C Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W Young, have been dedicated their research

for insights into the internal biological clock. They

identified a gene within fruit flies responsible for

controlling the daily rhythm, known as period gene.

The transcription level of this

gene oscillates with the rotation of our planet. The research

won them the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physiology/ Medicine.

The internal clock is a key feature of life on Earth, one that

wired the rotation of the planet into the fabric of our cells

over millions of years of evolution.

ScienCell's GeneQuery™ Human Circadian Rhythm qPCR Array Kit

(GQH-CIR) profiles 88 key genes involved in regulating changes that occur on a roughly 24-hour cycle.

Why use GeneQuery™ arrays?
* Genes are selected based on extensive literature research by

our Ph.D. scientist team
* All known transcript variants of target gene are recognized
* Primers are verified with over 10 types of normal human

primary cells to assure universal specificity and biological

relevance
* Performance guaranteed with high efficiency and

reproducibility; free of non-specific amplification
* Customizable with no extra charge
* Individual primers available

Example applications:

Basic research
* Identify cell signaling aberrancies
* Determine relevancy of biological pathways
* Study gene expression manipulation
* Examine mechanisms that may characterize phenotypes
* Compare cell functionality and biology in various conditions
* Confirm clustered RNA-Sequencing, microarrays and other preliminary data

Translational research
* Evaluate novel target genes or markers in discovery biology
* Determine drug mechanism of action in drug screening
* Evaluate new drug performance and enhance development
