The Right Honourable Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965), the son of Lord Randolph Churchill and an American mother, was educated at Harrow and Sandhurst. After a brief but eventful career in the army, he became a Conservative Member of Parliament in 1900. He held many high posts in Liberal and Conservative governments during the first three decades of the century. At the outbreak of the Second World War, he was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty - a post which he had earlier held from 1911 to 1915. In May, 1940, he became Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and remained in office until 1945. He took over the premiership again in the Conservative victory of 1951 and resigned in 1955. However, he remained a Member of Parliament until the general election of 1964, when he did not seek re-election. Queen Elizabeth II conferred on Churchill the dignity of Knighthood and invested him with the insignia of the Order of the Garter in 1953. Among the other countless honours and decorations he received, special mention should be made of the honorary citizenship of the United States which President Kennedy conferred on him in 1963.

+Zoltan Juhasz That depends on the definition of concentration camp. Governments have been forcefully relocating people into cramped, and prolonged settlement longer than any modern nation has existed. I must ask, what is your definition of a concentration camp?

Following the mapping of the New Zealand coast by Captain Cook in 1769, European & North American whaling, sealing and trading ships, trading food, metal tools, weapons and other goods for timber, food, artifacts and water. The introduction of the potato and the musket transformed Māori agriculture and warfare. This lead to the inter tribal wars of 1801 to 1840, combined with the diseases introduced by the traders lead to the death of 30 – 40,000 Maoris. In 1788 the United Kingdom appointed a Governor of the new British colony of New South Wales which according to his commission included New Zealand. The British Government appointed a British Resident to New Zealand in 1832 following a petition from northern Māori. In 1835, following annnouncement of an impending French settlement, the nebulous United Tribes of New Zealand sent a Declaration of the Independence to King William IV of the United Kingdom asking for protection. Ongoing unrest, the proposed settlement of New Zealand by the New Zealand Company (which had already sent its first ship of surveyors to buy land from Māori) and the dubious legal standing of the Declaration of Independence prompted the Colonial Office to send an expedition to claim sovereignty for Great Britain and negotiate a treaty with the Māori.[37] The Treaty of Waitangi was first signed in the Bay of Islands on 6 February 1840. I think to describe the Maoris as stone-age is insulting to their much respected culture and what right did the British and Europeans have to go and change it. The above has all the hall marks of divide and rule.

That was just waste, the war was nearly ended, he just wanted to see all german cities bombed down and german people suffer still. At least he is dead and i hope that kind of a person never be born anymore.

As an American, I must say I find Churchill inspiring and one of my favorite figures in British History. But the self hating idiots in the comment section are giving me a head ache. My favorite one is "Churchill is responsible for WW2 and he's a racist." Really? You can't think of anyone who else who actually is responsible for WW2 and is openly racist. Try thinking harder, he's very famous you know.

Churchill was a vainglorious warmonger and pompous ass. He sought out wars to achieve glory. He twice sucked the US into bailing England out. He had no reasonable expectation of winning WWI or WWII without the US. Hitler offered him reasonable peace terms 10 times: all Hitler wanted was Europe, and Britain could keep the countries it was exploiting. Hess flew to Scotland to solicit the Duke of Halifax's aid in securing peace. WC put him solitary confinement for life. WC was a liar: the "Lusitania" was loaded with contraband ammo. The armed British Q ships disguised as merchantmen and even flying the US flag sank U-boots. When U-boots no longer surfaced before sinking them, the Germans were blamed. Lookup the "Laconia" order. The US press was laden with anti-German propaganda. The victors write the history, and WC wrote over 30 books. WC had the advantage of writing in English. WC was incompetent: his army was thrown out of Europe, his invasion of Norway was a disaster as was Gallipoli. WC's strategy was to hold on until he could get the US, Australia, Canada, Egypt, India, its African colonies, et al. to fight his battles for him, and that applies to both wars. There is lots more if you can separate WC's lies from the truth.

Churchill went to see Monty in Africa. at noon he met Monty in his trailer for lunch. Monty was shock to see him smoking and drinking. "I neither smoke nor drink and I am 100 per cent fit". Churchill replied "I both smoke and rink and am TWO hundred per cent fit!"

that is sad that he is the cause of the setting up of a welfare state. I admire him greatly but to know he took to left wing politics really disappoints me about him. His statement that islam is such a retrograde affect on society - well, they are taking advantage and abusing the welfare state. But so do many others who make it a lifestyle instead of a helping hand. But his saving grace is that he 'grew up' and realized the other side was the side that would be able to defeat the rise of fascism. It is too bad that he didn't realize that a welfare state is a side of fascism when it is in ascension.

The main culprit of this terrible war was not Hitler, but the insane mad killer Winston Churchill. The Churchill-Family are American Bankers on his mother's side, they are influential People and own the press, TV, books, literature, the BBC, Publishers, anything. That is how they could write a fictional Story of "Britain being threatened by the bad Germans" (which was never the case, neither in WW I nor in WW II) and of "Hitler wanting war" (in truth Hitler made over 20 peace offers to Churchill), and most of all, they were able to write the big lie of a man wanting "peace". But Churchill did not want peace, he wanted war and he even cursed himself for loving war too much. BANKERS make their biggest Money with wars, and Churchill's American Family were BANKERS. They made Money with Hiroshima, with Dresden, with dead children, dead mothers, with anything. Churchill, my god help you! You are the murderer of over 50 Million Christians, you devil!

THIS DOCUMENTARY IS NOT COMPLETE. NO MENTION OF FIRE BOMBING OF HAMBURG WHICH WAS A TERROR RAID. NO MENTION OF THE COMPLETE TOTAL DEBACLE OF THE OPERATIONS IN THE BALKANS, GREECE AND CRETE. THE FIRE BOMBING OF DRESDEN A PUBLIC RELATIONS ACT OF FIRE BOMBING AND MASS MURDER? UPHOLD THE EMPIRE? Churchill's direct intervention in North Africa in relieving Auchinleck of his command of the 8th Army and replacing him with Montgomery led to the decisive victory at Alamein and across the whole of North Africa. Churchill was always nervous about amphibious landings (including Operation Overlord) against defended shores as a result of Galliopli, which for the record took place after he had been sacked as 1st Lord of the Admiralty over the failure of the Dardenalles.
