Gate of logs
liveless
but once open into the forest behind it
Everything is breathing and alive
Vines wrapping around tree trunks
Ages of foliage stacked on the ground
and become earth eventually
The forest is a local nanny
embracing a whole lot of little ants
birds, rabbits, ladybugs
cozy pine whistling
cypress whispering
A few drops of rain
A few beams of sunlight
or moonlight
and hoo of owls
