Moments and Inches

From moment to moment

I am moving along the line of life

it's neither straight nor curve

but simply a heartbeat after a heartbeat

cheerful outward or sorrow within

days of actions nights of dreaming

seasons of being loved and years of loving

pours the heart of life

in all fairness to the river of time

 

From thousands of miles to inches

there came the click of slim chance

for me to fall totally into your space of heart

a little rabbit of luck jumped right out of mine

and we came this far and comfortably

into the stream of love

around the mountains and into the sea

settle for tranquility

as moonlight over the waves
