推荐信

明失去他的移民身份了。他是个太空人 ━ 老婆孩子在加拿大，自己在中国打拼。一不小心枫叶卡丢了。再申请枫叶卡，需要推荐信，我写了这篇。现在，他的申请被拒绝了，我把它帖出来，做个纪念。

Re: Ming’s Immigration Status

To Whom It May Concern:

I met Ming some 6 years ago. We are family friends.

Ming is a person who cares success. He minds his graphic automation career. According to his wife, he could get an emergent phone call at 2:00 in the morning, get up from the bed and go to work. He may stay in the office for 24 hours and not remember eating anything. I heard that the movie “If You Are the One II” has a small part of his making. This movie has ever been on in Toronto and its box office number is $76,070,352 worldwide (http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=ifyouaretheone2.htm ).

He is a simple person. When he comes to my home for a party, he usually simply buys some beers. 

He is a quiet person. At most of time in the parties, he is either a listener, or watches TV. His son is like him, a quiet 8 year-old boy. However, whenever he comes to Canada, his son obviously becomes "noisy" with more “gagas”.

He is a good cooker though. When he is in Canada, his wife often invites us to their
home. Whenever so, he would always be the chef and always makes a huge amount of food for us.

In a winter about two years ago, he went back to China. His wife suddenly wanted to drink. After a glass of wine, she started talking. She had a good girlfriend who died of cancer in Canada, and she kept a part of her bone ash in the backyard. One day she took it out, but found it contaminated. He then washed the remains piece by piece with bare hands, dried them, and carefully wrapped them back in. This story moved me a lot.

Another story happened, again, when he just left for China. It was at my home. His son made fun with me for a while and got too excited, and eventually climbed on my shoulders. His wife smiled to me with sorry. “This kid has inertia,” she said. “He plays with his father like that.” It seems to me that Ming is not only a father but a good daddy.

I don't know how important he is to a country, but I know how important he is to his family. He loves his family. I believe a man who loves his family would love the country where his family loves.
