The cab driver who returned the violin, is honored by the City of Buffalo:

(UPI) NEWARK, New Jersey: Grammy-nominated violinist PHILIPPE QUINT has been reunited with a $4 million (BD1.5m) violin he left in the back of a taxi cab. Quint exited a cab at New York City's Battery Park, leaving the 1723 Antonio Stradivari 'Ex-Keisewetter' inside.The violin spent the remainder of the night on the seat of the cab, which owner Mohamed Khalil parked on a Newark street. Frantic Quint called the Port Authority of New York and the Taxi Commission, which put word out that the violin was missing. In the afternoon, Khalil checked his taxi and discovered the violin. Quint soon arrived, dropped to his knees and shed tears of joy.

OregonRain 2008-04-29 14:08:29 回复 悄悄话 美国的活雷锋真的很多哦。唉，我很久以前在国内时听大家说雷锋出国了。不过我见到的，听到的多于国内。大概是我的偏见吧。算了，还不如说这是人类的美德。就象音乐一样没有国届。
