　1937年，以苑志豪、柏香茗为代表的一群热血青年在五四运动的鼓舞下，投笔从戎，毅然决然参加了革命。才华横溢的苑志豪不仅骁勇善战，而且凭借丰富的知识为部队提高了战斗力；柏香茗从一个弱不禁风的学生成长为敌人闻风丧胆的的战斗英雄“白莲”，二人是所有人眼中的“模范革命夫妻”。解放后，志豪投入了国防科技的建设中，他坚定的信仰和信念指引他克服了一个又一个的困难，但他固执倔强的性格却不被人所理解，多年来一直背负冤屈的老战友邹大伦也始终无法得到他的谅解。柏香茗投入教育工作，夫妻俩在对待工作、朋友、亲人上观点不一，柏香茗忍辱负重撑起了整个家，依旧支持着志豪的事业。志豪对待儿子弈凯过于严厉，父子最终决裂，弈凯在战斗中牺牲，战友邹大伦埋藏着多年的冤屈病逝，志豪似乎这才明白对待家人战友过于严厉。香茗满怀悲痛欲与他分离，在遗嘱中却依然表达了对志豪永远的爱。香茗过世，志豪悲痛欲绝，他卖掉一生所有收藏为妻子制作了一份珍贵的纪念品。在柏香茗慈祥的笑容里，三代人的恩怨画上了句号。
