I heard the story about St. Augstine from pastor Mark.
When a youth, he asked "God, please make me pure, but not yet."
Growing up, he prayed "God, please make me pure, but not entirely."
As he matured, eventually, he submitted "God, please make me pure."
It sounds right; I cannot imagine somebody is born saint.
Yes. Through many dangers, toils and snares,
(oh, plus some blood, sweat and tears)
I, too, have arrived.
Please make me pure.
