1. How to determine the strength of a trend?
For swing-trading, you like to trade a stock in a strong trend. How to find a stock in a strong trend? My own method is to find a stock which has MACDH(12,26,9)>0 and RSI(5)>70 in the weekly chart. At close of each trading, I use my program to scan this kind of stocks. By doing this, I have found all strong stocks at the beginning of their strong run.
2.How to find the start of a powerful trend?
Everyone is dreaming to find a stock at the beginning of a powerful trend. How to find this kind of stocks? Go to the weekly chart: look for stock's price closes above the upper line of the Bolinger Band at high volume and Bolinger band's bandwidth is changed from narrow one to open one. At close of each Friday, I use my program to scan this kind of stocks. All powerful stocks start from here. Do your own check. Few examples ae as folllow:
FST, RDEN, ROSE and WYN . For strong stocks like FST, MTL, Rose and WYN, I buy when prices close above EMA6 and then sell when prices close below EMA6 at EOD .
