For all you have done
the green, the oxygen
the day and night, the four season
we should worship
as the ancient Mayan
With the sun temple
to focus our prayers
Yet the extinction of Maya
drive the modern to find ways
to forget where all of us are living under
Then we might have overheated ourselves
or just in your warm and fuzzy period
Know in summer
supposed to get baked happily
but for this morning
I just need to race you a bit
before the shadows of trees go back to sleep
After a few straight days of 100 F
one hour is all I would ask to mow the lawn
not to run against your wishes of promote growth
but only to please our stubborn eyes
