这些天每到晚上十点半，我通常会坐在电视机前，等待Jay Leno主持的Tonight Show闪亮登场。一般来说，他会在头半个小时内侃一侃近来的趣闻轶事，讲几个政治笑话，念几则令人匪夷所思的报纸标题或广告，采访几个对历史或地理毫无概念的年轻人。一阵哈哈哈过后，他会接着进行对嘉宾的专访。不过那一般是十一点以后的事情了，所以我们也看不完。和其他的一些Talk Show主持人相比，他的笑话不能算尖刻，他的风格也不是很恶搞。这样一来，我们每天睡觉前放松一下的愿望，就很容易在看这台节目的时候得到满足了。 这半年来经济萧条，免不了很多人会愁眉不展。前一阵子有传闻说Jay Leno和NBC签的合同明年五月到期，之后电台就会叫他走人。最近的消息又说，他不仅不会被开掉，还可能去主持另一个黄金时段的节目，预计收视率会更高。但不管明年会发生什么，主持人还是得接着讲笑话，老百姓也还是得接着过日子。就算每个人心中都有很多忧虑，又怎奈何无法预知的未来？所以该快活时且快活，是为苦中作乐也。 Jay Leno最近的一些笑话是关于现阶段经济状况的，都用的是“The economy is so bad that …”的句式。我凭着记忆，写下了几个，供大家一乐。

Some kids built a gingerbread house, and the government foreclosed it. 7. Hollywood celebrities are walking around with fake jewelry and real boobs. Normally it is the other way around.
