The Other Side of the Mirror

I went to a work-related seminar a while ago. There are 4 “groups” of attendees:

The American

The Chinese

The Indian

 

And the last but absolutely not the least,

The Canadian French

 

We had mini team projects to work on during evenings, and the teams were formed randomly.

 

One evening I was in a team that includes one Canadian French whose name is Jean Francois (or something like that) but said we could call him Jeff.

 

And Jeff is brilliant. Lightning smart.

 

And suddenly I realized that compared to him, I became an American. Someone who speaks English language much better but who has to spin the wheels like crazy just  to catch up the thoughts that “the foreigner” has.

 

It’s really the content that matters, though a bit of shiny good form certainly won’t hurt.
